Popham Flyball

If you’re looking for an opportunity to take part in a fun flying challenge this year, the guys at Popham Airfield near Basingstoke and Southampton might just have the answer.

The “Flyball” navex challenge will take place on Saturday 7th May 2016 at Popham (EGHP) and will be run in conjunction with a number of local airfields, including Wycombe Airpark (Booker), Chichester (Goodwood), Compton Abbas, Denham, Brimpton, Fairoaks, Old Sarum, Chiltern Park, Elstree and Sandown (Isle of Wight).

The challenge is to fly to as many of these airfields as you can, in any order, from 10am. A BBQ and award ceremony will then take place at Popham at 4pm, with a trophy for the winner. Each airfield will award the pilot with a ball. Collect 5 balls and you’ll earn the full amount of points.

The competition is open to all types of single engine piston aircraft, with classes for fixed wing, microlight, ultralight and rotorcraft. There is an entry fee of £20 per aircraft.
